Descrição
Amanda S. Kleinman MD Ltd is an outstanding, compassionate psychiatry practice in Chicago, Illinois, at One Magnificent Mile. As a board-certified adult psychiatrist, Dr. Kleinman takes a holistic, thorough approach to care, specializing in transference-focused psychotherapy (TFP) and medication management.
Dr. Kleinman provides psychodynamic therapy, a once-weekly therapy, and TFP, a more intensive twice-weekly therapy. She is an effective teacher who was awarded the Resident Teacher of the Year twice at Rush University in Chicago and developed outpatient clinical training for medical students and residents while working as an assistant professor and a director of outpatient psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Kleinman tailors each treatment to a patient’s individualized needs. She takes the time to get to know every patient, discuss their goals, and help them understand effective therapy processes. She helps patients embark on a journey toward developing deeper foundations of self-awareness and an integrated sense of self.
TFP addresses interpersonal difficulties that include a sense of one’s self, interpersonal challenges, and interactions with others. It addresses life dissatisfaction, chronic emptiness, persistent depression, anxiety, workplace challenges, personality disorders, dissociation, complex trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and relationship issues.
In addition to her training in TFP, Dr. Kleinman specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
Dr. Kleinman is an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) board-certified psychiatrist who graduated from Columbia University in New York City with a bachelor’s degree in art history. She received her medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and completed her internship and residency in psychiatry at the University of Washington in Seattle.
